RUSSIA'S COLOSSUS OF A FOREST
The paper chain - from felling to selling
Pawel Wladimirow tramps through the forest like a ranger tracking down a poacher. It is a warm spring day to the northwest of St. Petersburg and Pawel is in a hurry. Our research department is pursuing various projects concerning new drive systems and alternative fuels, right up to the use of natural fibers that could prove to be sustainable - both for the environment and for our balance sheet.

I loved the Midwest, the expanse, the forests, the clouds in the sky. As I grew older, I learnt to climb mountains, to canoe on the rivers and to ride. All these things heightened my respect for nature - this incredible design that existed long before human beings appeared on the scene.
