Since July 4, 2002, when paper production came on stream at the new mill in Hürth, near Cologne, Rhein Papier has supplied first-class newsprint to the print media. The newly established Rhein Papier GmbH with the mill in Hürth is a company that operates independently but is owned directly by the shareholders of Myllykoski Corporation and organizationally managed by Myllykoski Continental. This young company combines state-of-the-art technology and traditional skills. The PM 1 is one of the world’s most advanced paper machines and has an annual output of up to 280,000 metric tons of newsprint.
